I get the extra strong glue from Poundland, usually four small tubes in a pack, very strong.. they will stick your fingers together if you aren't careful!  But there isn't much glue in a tube, they aren't full ...

Silicone sealant works for all-purpose projects around the house. It must be held in place for a few hours, but adheres to rubber, metal, plastic, tile, and wood. Amazon.com User Recommendation

tough question - I'm stuck...

Surely this depends on what you want to stick? Superglue types are brilliant for some jobs but won't  work on others, Gorilla Glue also but I wouldn't use it to mend fine items. Araldite used to be amazing (does it still exist?) but wouldn't work on some surfaces. I assume, because of the chemistry involed in making two surfaces bond, that's why there are so many different types on the market. You need the right type for the right job.
