I've had them for a week now. I've taken antihistamines and used itch relief cream, but nothing works. How long do they take to go?

TIA.

An entomologist friend of mine said that everyone gets bitten, it's just that some people react and some people don't.Β  I`m not sure though as I've seen mozzies fly past people to land and bite me. I don't react to their bites anymore thoughΒ

As long as they are not infected they should start to go now.  Do not scratch them though as that really prolongs the itch.

For next time it happens...1% hydrocortisone cream, as soon after the bites (or stings) occur.

oh come on that was an obvious pun! Humourless mods!

Try salt water

Aveeno anti-itch cream is brilliant.

You won't get anything better than the one I've recommended.  I tried to get you a link but most places say they are sold out which proves how good it is.

This sounds so wrong but "you must be tasty"

Tuvok, it certainly is.  No idea why I got bitten and my friend in the same room didn't.

Have you tried an iced flannel? To cool it down and take the itch out

I'd give 'em the elbow (if they leave the rest alone)!

Thank you all for your most helpful replies. I did chuckle at some 😁. I'll try the lotions and potions recommended xx

What one needs is a supplement that means you are deadly poison to bugs. After a while you would find they avoid you since only those who don't fancy you as a meal get to breed the next generation. And those that don't avoid you get a lesson and won't do it again.

Thank you old geezer πŸ‘πŸ».  Can you believe I've still got them.  Trying hard not to scratch them and I rub them instead against my handbag strap.  My coworker thinks they're going so hope they're on their way out.  The devils.

I find that Sudocreme is helpful...helps the itch go away and aids healing.

Just to let you know the insect bites are just starting to slightly disappear. In the end I had to go to Boots as they weren't going and the pharmacist recommended an antihistamine cream.

I found a Face Mist spray - Cools and Refreshes

And Hayfever relief wipes which were affordable. The results were almost instant.

I haven't used them as I likely haven't had the problem again yet.
