43 dead inc 15 children at the last count more - more missing so the count probably is more than 50 mainly - the missing children from summercamps in the Hill Country (Kerrville and Hunt). Huge floods and the River Guadalupe rose 20-26 feet inside 45 minutes - the warning systems weren't good enough so questions are already being asked.

My daughters' old camp was fortuitously empty re children but the co-owner/director has been killed, one Jane Ragsdale - makes it very personal when you know somebody.

Always so much more chilling when children involved. I remember the Aberfan disaster with similar horror even to this day.

I first read of this a few days ago...blame being put on government(s)and parties, along with climate change...when apparently it's happened before and is not an unusual occurrence. My heart goes out to all the families. I'm so sorry to read of your connection DT.
