Did they really think there'd be no consequences?
not a dry eye in the house!
Avon and Somerset plod is dilligently"looking into it". Is this the same sensitive mob that arrested the bloke for taking down a gay pride flag? He took it down in the middle of the night and before the following afternoon they had deployed as many resourses as it too to apprehend him and charge him with a hate crime. The vile creeps who broadcast this repulsive outburst gleefully congratulated them on a well excecuted arrest, and the charge, fulsomely. Meehhh.
I'm with veteran promoter Harvey Goldsmith's take on this -
The live feed was not not pulled because of 'bias', it was because the youth on duty had no idea what was said, much less the impact of what it actually meant, exactly like the crowd who chanted it back, not because they agreed with it, but because that is what crowds do.
Remember Kenny Everett advising how equally amazed and appalled he was at the Conservative Party Conference, when his unplanned shout of 'Let's bomb Russia' received such rapturous applause, that he decided to see what else he could get a reaction from, and shouted, 'Let's kick Michael Foot's stick away', to even more rapturous cheering.
Now on bo
...both occasions, in the cold light of day, no sensible individual would own up to cheering on either occasion, but in the heat of crowd reaction, people will cheer anything.
Next time the BBC wants to risk a live broadcast when they know full well what the result is very likely to be, maybe sit a mature adult, with a grasp of politics world affairs, and the golden opportunity being given to a professional zealot, and have their hand on the 'OFF' switch.
The Telegraph is referring to Tim Davie being 'dragged into the row ...'!!!
He's the Director General of the BBC, he wasn't 'dragged in ...' he was front and centre from the minute it happened.
Apparently, since he was on site (for what reason does he need to make a visit at licence payers' expense) he got to have the say about the ser being available to stream. Doesn't he have several tiers of expensive and irrelevant management, no doubt also ab a free jolly, to make those decisions for him?
He should be sacked, tomorrow.
It leaves me with a warm glow that his stupid comments have very swiftly made him a pariah.
His management have dropped him, Dibble are investigating and the US have yanked his visa. I understand he was due to tour the US, so I imagine the promotors will sue him as I suspect the insurance the promotors took out would not cover the removal of a visa.
I know it's bad form to compare one deed with another, but given what has happened to Lucy Connolly, if there's any justice in the world he should get a stretch in jail.
