Isn't It Disturbing That We Have Such An Idiot As A Minister?
https:/
Darren Jones: "vast majority, women, babies and children"
Home office: "In the first three months of 2025, there were 6,420 small boat arrivals where the age and sex of the person was recorded, according to Home Office figures.
Of these, 81% (5,183) were adult men."
But you don't need the figures just look at the boats!

Enough to rise up and fight against us from the inside? I have just looked up the number of bodies we have in our armed forces and it says:-
On 1 April 2025, the total size of the full-time UK armed forces (trained and untrained) was around 147,300 people. This number comprises all full-time trained and untrained members of the UK Regular Forces, Gurkhas, and full-time Reserve service personnel.

I posted on another thread:
Small boat crossings since 2018:
Male: 129,615 (88%)
Female: 17.953 (12%)
101,506 (78%) of the males were aged 18 to 40 meaning 28,109 (22%) were either under 18 or over 40.
I'm sure I've seen a more granular breakdown somewhere but I'm not inclined to look for it, though most estimates put the number of under-18s (which includes those who are aged 18 and over but say they are younger) at between 15% and 18% .
But it doesn't really matter. After all, we're countering a statement made by the second-in-command at the Treasury who reckons the vast majority of arrivals are women, babies and children. You really couldn't make it up.
However, Mr Jones's statement does illustrate quite clearly the strategy that government ministers are seemingly adopting in an attempt to counter criticism of the way the scandal is being handled. Since they will not do what's required to cure the problem they hope if they tell sufficient lies, eventually people will believe them.
Though quite why they should think people will believe that unlimited illegal immigration is OK provided the migrants are only women and children is yet another of life's mysteries.

We have more than one idiot as ministers. Idiocy appears to be a requirement for the job.
Too true. We have a PM whose idea of negotiation is to agree to any demand put on him, a chancellor who's completely out of her depth when it comes to financial matters, a foreign secretary (David Lammy, god help us), is determined to give away the UK's sovereign territories, including the Chagos Islands and Gibraltar. What's next?, the Falklands and St. Helena? This racism / reparations obsessed thicko's only qualification for the post is that he's black.
To avoid confusion, this is what he actually said:
“When you are there, on the site, seeing these dinghies put together by these organised criminal gangs which are clearly not safe and when you see that the majority of the people in these boats are children, babies and women,…”
At this point he was drowned out by the audience, most of whom seemed to be mocking and jeering him, but a few were applauding. During his melee, Reform’s Zia Yusef stated (I think) that north of 90% are men. When order was restored by the Mistress of Ceremonies, Mr Jones went on:
“When there are babies and children put into that position by human trafficking gangs who are coming across the Channel with skin burns from the oil from those boats mixing with the salt seawater, I would ask any of you to look at those babies and children and say ‘go back where you cane from’. It is right that we are a country which respects our human rights obligations but it is also right that we have a border that is functioning and an immigration system that is functioning.”

The minister later said he had been referring to what he had seen on a recent visit to Border Security Command in Dover. That seems a little odd because on QT he spoke of being “…there, on the site, seeing these dinghies put together by these organised criminal gangs.” I would not have thought much of that went on in Dover.
He added: "Of course the overall majority of people arriving illegally on small boats are men - but not 'north of 90%' as Reform claimed."
No, not quite “north of 90%.” But far closer to that than the “majority [i.e more than 50%] being children women and babies."
Whatever Mr Jones thinks we should have, the UK has neither of the last two things he mentioned. The border is not functioning because literally thousands of people are breaching it weekly. The immigration system is not functioning because the small boat arrivals are not participating in it. They are arriving unannounced and without leave.
Physically preventing the boats arriving will cure both those deficiencies. The government – in which he has a senior role – is not meeting those responsibilities. If they did, it might mean Mr Jones and his colleagues were not called upon to appear on the telly and make fools of themselves.
