Coalition Of The Willing
It looks like Europe has got the message that NATO is doomed, and is attempting to act accordingly. What do you think?

Trump has been right out of order to Zelensky but it may actually turn out that the outcome works. All NATO members should match US spending as a % of GDP. If US does end up doing the minerals deal then their could end up with a huge US prescence to deter Putin, effectively a security guarantee. Both sides can claim victory and it should be over. The US may well end up with a military base in Ukraine right on Putin's door step. Maybe Trump is thinking more moves ahead than we give him credit for.
Trump isn't even interested in backing up other's troops in Ukraine, just in supplying workers to dig out American spoils of rare metals etc.. I think we ought not go hoping for, or expecting, military bases on Russia's border; not unless some European country opts to. Besides, it would be seen as a provocation and likely trigger further hostilities.

I think you are deluding yourself if you still think he's on 'our' side.
The only deal that Trump will be making will be with Putin, about how they carve up Ukrainian minerals etc between themselves after Putin's victory. This will be Trump's price for staying out of it and dropping any sanctions on Russia.
The US is in NATO in name only. I do not believe they will honour any committement to it. Trump has already said as much.
There will be a period of pause after the current war ends when Putin regroups and rearms. Europe needs to use that time wisely.
