My local greengrocer keeps some bruised fruit for me, mostly apples and pears.  I put them out in the garden for the birds .

She gave me some bananas a few days ago and I noticed this morning there wasn't anything left of them but the peel.

Have birds or maybe a hedgehog eaten them.

More likely a rat or maybe a fox.

Pigeons eat bananas if chopped up into small pieces - strange that bird/animal could peel the banana?

I'd have thought all the birds that have a go at the apples would also like bananas, blackbirds and starlings for example.

I half peeled the bananas.

I've seen in YouTube crows using primitive tools but unpeeling food would be too much for them.

Surely a crow could easily demolish a banana; after all, they can rip open bin bags to get at the goodies inside

my blackbirds love bananas

They go bananas for them.
